Gerhard Claassen

MANAGING PARTNER

Following a successful career, working for several national law firms in the Cape, Gerhard made a decision to leave private practice to pursue opportunities in Property Development in Gauteng. During this time, he advised several law firms and developers on Commercial matters, and this lured him back into private practice. In fact, his personal faith journey – hearing the call of God – together with the fast-paced world of Commercial Law, led him to open his own private practice in 2004.
With more than 25 years of specialised commercial experience Gerhard still thoroughly enjoys the challenges presented at the intersection of business and law. He focuses all his energy on providing legal and management consulting services to his clients, ranging from:

cross border transactions,
banking, financial technology and exchange control
compliance, and
company and contract law for companies of any size focusing on directors and shareholders.

Jan’s rich legal background has afforded him the position of looking after GKC’s litigation and matrimonial matters – ranging from evictions to divorce, labour queries, deceased estates and child care issues.
